Short And Sweet Documentary Now In Production

Two Sydney-based documentary filmmakers, Sandy Culkoff and Carolyn Boyd are delving backstage into the dynamic Sydney fringe theatre scene following a group of directors each putting on a play in the 2005 Short and Sweet Festival.

With the working title of The Short & Sweet of It , the documentary makers are tracking the highs and lows of six directors as they pull together their punchy ten-minute plays for the 2005 season held at The Seymour Centre and at the Newtown Theatre at the Edge.

The filmmakers are following: Renee Lim, directing Confucius Say ; Vee Spak from Action Break Theatre directing, The Blanket ; Sam Genocchio, directing Die Feral Die ; Ric Herbert directing, Hinchcliffe Opts Out , Alex Galeazzi directing, Relic s and Lawrence Carmichael directing, Domestic .

The documentary will track the stories of selected directors on their journey from auditions and casting, to rehearsal and opening night and possibly even a spot in the finals to be held in the York Theatre at the Seymour Centre on February 25, 2005.

Copies of the documentary will be available for purchase directly from Shooting People upon completion of the film. For further information and updates on the progress of the documentary go to www.shootingpeople.com.au

Register your interest in purchasing a copy of the upcoming documentary film by sending an email to info@shootingpeople.com.au with your name, address and telephone. This will also put you in the draw to win a dinner for two valued at $100 at the Bondi Icebergs Restaurant.

The winner will be drawn on February 28, 2005 and will be notified via email.
